Beyond Art: Tao Source Calligraphy

The Visible Values:
Beauty of Art

Chinese calligraphy is a visual art that evolved from handwriting, which is widely practiced and honored in China and in the Chinese cultural sphere, including Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and Vietnam. Its unique feature is that one can appreciate it without knowing the Chinese language. It is also respected as finest art alongside painting, poetry, dance, and music.

The ultimate goal of Chinese calligraphy is to use seemingly lifeless dots and lines to create vivid pictures to connect the calligrapher’s personal feelings with reviewers. Chinese believe that just a single calligraphy can fully reveal the secrets of the writer’s outlook on life, for instance: character, experience and education. It is one of the most relaxing yet highly disciplined exercises for one’s physical and spiritual well-being.

Today five major styles of Chinese calligraphy are commonly used, depending on the function of the text. Seal script (篆书, zhuan shu), clerical script (隶书, li shu), semi-cursive script (行书, xing shu), regular script (楷书, kai shu), cursive script (草书, cao shu).

Tao Source Calligraphy is a unique style of Chinese calligraphy created by Master Zhi Gang Sha. It possesses Yi Bi Zi (fully cursive script) artistic beauty, and enhanced with the divine and Tao Source miracle healing power. With its visible art value and invisible healing power, it is beyond normal visual art.

Yi Bi Zi is Oneness writing. It falls within the cursive script style. When an entire character or phrase is written in one continuous stroke without lifting the brush from the paper at all, that is called Yi Bi Zi.

As a great Chinese calligraphy artist, Master Sha has been trained in Yi Bi Zi by professor Li Qiu Yun, and became her only lineage holder. Professor Li is recognized by the United Nations as one of the world leading experts on the Chinese language. The over a hundred-year-old professor learned the art from the teacher of the last royal family in China.

Master Sha’s Tao Source Calligraphy emphasizes resonance between strokes, the harmony between characters. The entire artwork has a free-flowing motion and a balanced composition. A strong physical life force can be seen in his calligraphy artwork.

As a visual art, his marvellous calligraphy has been highly appreciated like a poem without words, a dance without movement, a painting without figures, and a music without sound.

First of the Ten Da quality is greatest love

Give unconditional love to others

Melt all disasters and challenges

Heart is clear and transparent and
soul is enlightened

Master Sha is a medical doctor trained in Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. He has also been a Tao Grandmaster of healing and rejuvenation for the past 25 years.

Based on Yi Bi Zi dynamic function combined with deep traditional Chinese medicine and Tao Source wisdom, he created this unique style of Tao Source calligraphy for sacred healing, rejuvenation, transformation of every aspect of life, eventually reaching longevity and immortality.

When he was writing, the Tao Source information, energy and matter along with universal laws (e.g. Yin Yan law, Five elements law, Shen chi jing law, Tao creation and reverse creation law) were downloaded into the calligraphies. Each calligraphy carries a positive energy field relating to the characters’ specific meanings. As you are tracing it using your five fingers or lower abdomen, the positive energy field will be activated to remove matter, energy and spiritual blockages from your body. Hence, deep healing and profound transformation will be achieved to balance energy in your body, meanwhile getting nourishment from the Tao energy field as well.
